Eng. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Sabri

Eng. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Sabri current position is SVP – Operation Services in
the International Maritime Industries (IMI) in Ras Al Khair, before he was the President of
Bahri Ship Management (2018-2022), one of six business units within Bahri, a global leader
in transportation and logistics.
Bringing over three decades of experience in the shipping, logistics, and energy
industries, Sabri’s leadership and strategic oversight have been instrumental in catapulting
Bahri Ship Management into one of the world’s leading providers of technical and commercial
ship management services for VLCCs, chemical and product tankers, dry bulk carriers and
RoCon vessels. Abdulaziz oversees all aspects of the Company’s business operations including
safety and quality and is responsible for providing overall direction for the operation and
maintenance of all 96 vessels currently under management.
A Saudi national, Abdulaziz started his career in 1989 as a Maintenance Engineer at
Saudi Aramco. In 1996, he moved to Vela International Marine Limited, the shipping arm of
Saudi Aramco, where he spent the next 18 years serving in a variety of roles including Site
Manager at the Company’s site office in South Korea shipyard and later, Fleet Operations
Manager. He joined Bahri as Vice President – Technical Services in January 2015 before
being assigned the role of Vice President Fleet Management in April 2016.
Abdulaziz holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of
Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Abdulaziz was a member in the following Committees:
1. Chairman of the DNV Middle East Committee,
2. Board of Trustees Member of the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC),
3. Primary member of the Maritime Disaster Management KSA,
4. Member of the Lloyd’s Register Middle East & Africa Asia Advisory Committee.
5. Member of the ClassNK Middle East & Africa Asia Advisory Committee.
6. Member of the judging panel for The Maritime Standard (TMS) Awards 2021.
7. Steering Committee Member in the UAE Maritime Week.
8. Board member in the National Maritime Academy (NMA).
9. Bahri CEO Advisor.
In 2020 he received The Maritime Standard Excellence Award in recognition and
acknowledgement of his tremendous contribution over the last few decades to the shipping
and maritime industry.
