Mahdi Al‑Lawatia is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as Director for Special Projects at SOHAR Port and Freezone. Formerly a Senior Programme Manager at PARSONS, he joined the company in 2007 after beginning his career in the UK. Mahdi has extensive expertise in construction management, marine works, and major national infrastructure. His portfolio includes Sohar Industrial Estate expansions, Sohar Port Interchange, Blue City Development, A’Seeb Wastewater Projects, and multiple master planning initiatives. He previously served as Sohar Port Director, contributing to major port developments, JICA strategic studies, Duqm Port planning, and nationwide road projects.
